Project supported in 2026

Maison Gisèle & Simone is dedicated to protecting, supporting, and empowering women and children who have experienced violence. Its mission is to provide comprehensive, free-of-charge, and coordinated care, guiding beneficiaries from their first consultation through to long-term recovery and independence.

The association brings together, under one roof, a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, psychologists, legal experts, and social workers. This integrated approach ensures that every woman has access to a complete, compassionate, and seamless care pathway, with no barriers to entry.

Across France, women experiencing domestic, sexual, or psychological violence continue to face fragmented support systems and complex administrative procedures. Many are discouraged from seeking help by fear, shame, or the difficulty of navigating multiple services.

Maison Gisèle & Simone was created to address this urgent need. It provides a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment where every woman can be heard, treated, protected, and supported throughout her journey toward recovery.

The project aims to establish its permanent facility in January 2027 and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation. The centre will provide immediate, free, and non-judgmental support to every woman in need, as well as to her children, through a fully coordinated network of professionals capable of addressing every aspect of their recovery.

Our ambition is simple: no woman or child affected by violence should have to face a complex system alone. Every individual deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with safety, dignity, and independence.

The organisation carrying the project

Maison Gisèle & Simone is a non-profit organisation founded in May 2025 by Dr Myriam Mimouni and Dr Nathalie Douay-Hauser, both practising gynaecologists based in Boulogne-Billancourt.

The project emerged directly from their medical practice. Their clinic was often the first place where women experiencing violence felt able to disclose their situation. Witnessing these realities on a daily basis, they decided to go beyond referring patients to existing services and instead create the integrated centre that was missing.

The organisation opened its temporary premises in March 2026. Within just six weeks, more than 40 women had already received support, demonstrating both the scale of the need and the relevance of the model.

Today, Maison Gisèle & Simone relies on a multidisciplinary team including physicians, psychologists, paediatricians, psychiatrists, lawyers, legal advisors, specialised educators, and social reintegration professionals.

Maison Gisèle & Simone is the first privately led initiative in France to integrate the full continuum of care—from emergency support and medical treatment to legal assistance and social reintegration—within a single location.

Its services are organised around six complementary pillars:

  • Reception and care coordination;
  • Medical care;
  • Psychological support;
  • Legal assistance;
  • Social and professional reintegration;
  • Prevention and awareness.

All services are provided free of charge, with no eligibility requirements or referral process. The centre is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., welcoming all adult women affected by violence and children aged 0 to 17, regardless of their background or socio-economic circumstances.

The organisation benefits from the support of leading healthcare and institutional partners, including Clinique Marcel Sembat (Ramsay Santé) and the City of Boulogne-Billancourt.

Beyond individual support, Maison Gisèle & Simone seeks to generate broader social impact by training healthcare and social service professionals to identify and support victims of violence, delivering prevention programmes in schools and workplaces, and ultimately developing a model that can be replicated across France.

Key figures :

  • 373,000 women experience domestic violence every year in France. 230,000 women are victims of rape or other forms of sexual violence annually. 160,000 children are victims of incest or sexual abuse, equivalent to one child every three minutes.
  • 6 integrated support services delivered under one roof.
  • 20 volunteers and 7 staff members currently engaged.
  • More than 40 women supported during the first six weeks of operation.
  • 300 women and children expected to benefit during the first full year.
  • 1,500 psychological counselling sessions planned during Year One.
